Welcome to Wise and Well-thy, the podcast where entrepreneurship meets whole-self wellness. Hosted by Emily Gozy of Nourished with Emily, Allison Graff of Your Mindful Health Coach, and Ebony Unique of Unique Consults, this show explores what it really takes to build a business without losing yourself in the process.

Here’s how it works: each of us will host solo episodes with a guest—fellow entrepreneurs who are making an impact while staying grounded, wise, and well-thy. You’ll get three guest episodes in a row before all three of us come back together in the studio for a roundtable conversation on a topic that matters to every business owner.

Along the way, you’ll not only get to know us, but also meet inspiring members of our community, hear what they’re great at, and learn their strategies for success and sustainability.

Whether you’re growing your business, your well-being, or both, Wise and Well-thy will keep you inspired, connected, and reminded that taking care of you is part of the work.

The Soft Launch of Something Big- Our Origin Story with Emily, Ebony & Allison

In our very first episode of Wise and Well-thy, we’re taking you behind the scenes to share how this podcast came to life. We talk about how the three of us—Emily Gozy of Nourished with Emily, Allison Graff of Your Mindful Health Coach, and Ebony Unique of Unique Consults—first met during a business planning class and instantly connected over our passion for building businesses that honor the whole self.

We’ll each describe what “health” means to us in five words or less, and dive into our individual entrepreneurial journeys—the ups, the pivots, and the lessons learned along the way.

This episode sets the stage for what you can expect from Wise and Well-thy: real conversations, authentic perspectives, and a community of entrepreneurs who are redefining what it means to grow both a business and yourself.

The Work Behind the Work: Self-Soothing, Self-Care, and Finding the Balance with Melody Smith-Johnson

Balancing self-care and self-soothing can feel especially complicated as an entrepreneur. When hustle is normalized, boundaries blur, and rest often feels earned instead of necessary.

In this episode of Wise and Well-thy, Ebony Unique sits down with Melody Smith-Johnson to explore the difference between self-care and self-soothing, why recognizing that distinction matters for entrepreneurs, and how both can play a role in sustaining your well-being while building and leading your own work. Together, they discuss practical ways to build self-awareness, identify healthier patterns, and take intentional steps toward caring for yourself... not just coping in the moment.

Melody also shares parts of her personal journey, including how lived traumatic experiences shaped her understanding of balance, healing, and purpose. Through vulnerability and reflection, she speaks to how she found herself along the way and how that journey ultimately led her to her current work as an entrepreneur, mentor, and ministry leader.

This conversation is honest, thoughtful, and rooted in growth. Offering perspective for entrepreneurs navigating personal healing, leadership, and redefining what self-care truly looks like.

⚠️ Content Note: This episode includes brief mention of childhood sexual abuse and a suicide attempt. These topics are shared with care and are not the primary focus of the conversation, but listener discretion is advised.
